After years of family holidays at Ohope, my clients wanted a bach that reflected their memories. This clever quirky new build does just that, referencing the old bach while bringing modernism into play.

For the interior I combined style and sentiment, working closely with a wonderful client who was clear about her vision and requirements. The ability of the kitchen to operate as a work and entertainment space was paramount. Here I introduced Dekton for the benchtops, an amazing new scratch-resistant /heat resistant sintered stone product. Detailing was vital to the interior story and I wanted a bright coastal feel, achieved through shutters, lots of raw elements such as the downstairs concrete blockwork and v groove paneling. Funky birch ply clad walls in the bedrooms become a feature, while practicality dictated Polycarb rather than glass in the hallway.

The overall finish communicates comfort while the ultimate look is minimal but lux – showcased through beautiful key pieces; from the stunning lighting of the Monmouth glass in the bedrooms to the Muuto pendants over the dining table.
