The kitchen is without a doubt the heart of the home, but it’s also the hub – so it needs to combine aesthetics with streamlined practicality. This Otumoetai home called for a traditional style of kitchen that worked with the original windows, existing flooring and architectural details in the home. We based the look around a muted colour palette, with warmth introduced through the brass hardware and tapware - the custom made antique brass light fitting also serves as a stunning understated feature piece. The split Butler’s sink is a nod to timeless style, as is the Shaker profile cabinetry. Meanwhile the engineered stone benchtop is a robust choice for family life, while still maintaining a sleek, high-quality finish. The clean light palette is subtle, stylish and in keeping with the feel of the home.
