Orkney Road House #1

Architect : Creative Space
Builder : Todd Grey
Photographer : Amanda Aitken

The Orkney Road property was an exciting project. Originally constructed in 1965, the existing building was cold, the floor plan provided little continuity and there was no indoor/outdoor flow, so I had a huge spectrum for creative thinking. The client wanted a sleek, pared back look – this leant itself perfectly to a neutral palette, with lots of clean lines and highly functional spaces. We reconfigured the floor plan, installed designer lighting pieces and added stunning Ceaserstone benchtops as well as custom oak cabinetry. This transformed the property into a family friendly home with an uber modern vibe.

"We used Kathrine McDonald Design at every stage of our major house renovation project from space planning, kitchen & bathroom design right through to soft furnishing selection.
Kath is a passionate interior designer and was always professional and practical in her approach. She was always there for us, listened to our requirements and went the extra mile.
We absolutely loved working with Kath. Initially we were felt quite overwhelmed with our renovation but she made difficult decisions simple by understanding our design preferences and budget and delivered well thought out options.
Thanks Kath – you made our project stress free and enjoyable!" - F & J Coley
