Proximity to the beach inspired a light, natural interior design, mirroring the beautiful sandy landscapes. With an existing structure that worked well, the focus was on fine tuning the layout by adding subtle features that elevate the living experience. A love of timber played well into the overall feel – wooden flooring flows through the home, with particular effect in the kitchen where the light grained cabinetry adds to the sense of space and brightness, juxtaposed with contrasting black appliances for a strong visual statement. A Dekton island speaks to the splash back and is continued on to the bar area; as a medium Dekton is not just incredibly durable, but with its layered textural finish the aesthetics are stunning. Warmth has been introduced into bathrooms through both the timber flooring and brushed bronze hardware showcased in the master ensuite. Here the beautiful marble vanity tops add multiple sensory dimensions. A feature of the laundry I love is the elevated washing machine, which saves constant bending; another aspect of the home that really sparks is the fireplace, which creates optical interest whilst working with the lines of the room.
